The mission of the University of New Hampshire Athletic Training program is to provide the best possible health care for University of New Hampshire student-athletes while simultaneously promoting an atmosphere conducive to the education of student-athletes and student athletic trainers. The program strives to develop cognitive skills, affective values in injury prevention, recognition and evaluation of injuries/illness, rehabilitation, organization and administration, and education and counseling of student-athletes, parents and coaches.
The philosophy of the Athletic Training program is as follows:
- Provide athletic training services to student-athletes
- Provide a sound learning environment for Athletic Training Option students
- Support National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) efforts to promote the athletic training profession
- Provide continual communications between the student-athletes, coach, and athletic administration regarding any and all athletic training related matters
