Kate McAfee began her second stint
with the UNH Athletic Department in October 2010. She returned to
the position of Athletic Event Coordinator that she vacated 13
months earlier was was promoted to the position of Assistant
Athletic Director for Event Management in July 2011.
McAfee previously served as the University’s Athletic Event
Coordinator from June 2007 through August 2009. She was the on-site
administrator for multiple intercollegiate athletics events,
including men’s and women’s ice hockey, football, field
hockey, men’s soccer and women’s lacrosse. McAfee also
handled emergencies and risk management for events in addition to
serving as the primary contact for police and fire departments. Her
other duties included scheduling, training and supervising all
event staff and minor officials. Furthermore, McAfee prepared the
Event Management budget and tracked all expenses for athletic
events.
She resumed all those responsibilities upon her return in October
2010.
Prior to being hired as Athletic Event Coordinator, McAfee was an
Event Manager for Global Spectrum at the Whittemore Center Arena
from January 2006 to June 2007. She held the titles of box office
manager and group sales contact from October 2003 to January
2006.
McAfee is a native of Hampton Falls, N.H., who was a multi-sport
athlete at Winnacunnet High School and went on to become a field
hockey and lacrosse letterwinner at Western New England College,
where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History in May 2000.
She currently resides in Exeter with her husband Bryan and their
children Amelia and Fiona.
