Michelle Bronner (SUNY New Paltz ’92) was hired as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance/Senior Woman Administrator in March 2011. She joined the Wildcats after serving as Director of Compliance/SWA at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. from 2005-11. Bronner has over 10 years of experience in collegiate compliance. In April 2012, she was named the NCAA Gymnastics Northeast Regional Administrator of the Year.

Bronner is primarily responsible for the administration of over $8 million dollars of athletic scholarships, the eligibility certification process for approximately 525 student-athletes and the education and monitoring of 70 coaches and 20 sports. She also supervises the administration of the $75,000 NCAA Special Assistance Fund and $180,000 NCAA Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund. She is responsible for preparing all National Letters of Intent as well as initial and renewal financial aid agreements.

As the department's Senior Woman Administrator, Bronner serves on the department's senior management team and is responsible for the department's compliance with Title IX and gender equity issues.

Bronner also oversees the data collection and analysis of the NCAA's institutional Graduation Success Rate (GSR), the Academic Progress Rate (APR), and IPEDS (Federal Graduation Rate data), which are reported annually to the NCAA and Department of Education.

While at UNF, Bronner oversaw and monitored the athletics department’s compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Sun Conference and University regulations.  This includes areas of student-athlete welfare and eligibility, rules education for students, coaches, staff and the public as well as NCAA legislative changes.  As Senior Woman Administrator, her responsibilities included senior management team duties, service on various campus committees along with developing and monitoring all of UNF’s Title IX and gender equity initiatives.

Prior to her time at UNF, Bronner served three years as Academic Advisor/Compliance Assistant at Siena College. While at Siena, she ran all aspects of the Academic Support Services including monitoring academic progress, determining continuing eligibility, coordinating community service efforts, and SAAC liaison. In the fall of 2003, she moved to the Peach Belt Conference Office to become the Director of Compliance. In this capacity, Bronner provided support to member institutions in regards to NCAA regulations, organized YES Clinics, monitored all eligibility paperwork and provided various other services as needed.

Bronner is a graduate of NACWAA/HERS Institute (2009E) and recipient of 2009 NACWAA Judith M. Sweet Commitment Award. 

Personally, Bronner grew up in an Army family and has traveled the world. Born in Amberg, Germany, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in History Education from SUNY New Paltz. She spent seven years as a high school history teacher at Fountain-Fort Carson High School in Colorado and earned a master's degree in Human Performance and Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee.
