Shawn Green
Shawn Green (UNH ’96) enters his first year as Academic Support/Compliance Assistant. He joined the Wildcats in the fall of 2010 after serving as the head coach for the men’s and women’s cross country/ track teams for nine years at Quinnipiac University, and most recently was the men’s cross country/track & field coach at Southern Connecticut State University for a year. He splits his time in the academic support and compliance departments. Prior to his year with SCSU, Green had experience at four Division I programs – Quinnipiac University, Michigan State University, UNH and Georgia State University. Green made an immediate impact in
his only season with the Owls. He led the squad to Northeast-10
Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships, as well as a
fourth-place finish at the New England Indoor Championships. The
Owls were the top Division II finisher at New England’s
indoors in 2010. A three-time Northeast Conference Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year, Green also guided the women’s cross country squad to the 2007 New England Championship. In his 10 years at Quinnipiac,
Green coached 32 individual Northeast Conference champions and nine
NEC champion relay teams. He also coached the Bobcats’ first
female Division I All-American in any sport, Katie Gwyther. Prior to joining the Quinnipiac
staff, Green served as a volunteer assistant coach at Georgia State
University and Lansing (Mich.) Community College. Green is a former Vice President of
the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Cross Country/Track
and Field Association and Chair of the Northeast Conference
Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coaches Committee. He
has also served on the USTFCCCA Cross Country Executive
Committee. |
