ORONO, Maine – Sarah Craigue (Concord, N.H.) scored a career-high three goals to propel the University of New Hampshire field hockey team to Saturday afternoon’s 4-3 America East victory against the University of Maine at the Maine Field Hockey complex.
Craigue’s six points also marked a personal best and Kate Collins Smyth (Parteen, County Claire, Ireland) recorded her first multiple-assist game with two. UNH goalkeeper Jenna Lehman (Kingston, Pa.) finished with 13 saves, her second-highest total of the season. UM’s Brittany Fleck stopped seven shots.

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Brittany Jacobs (Frederick, Md.) and freshman Whitney Frates (Woodstock, Vt.) each scored goals to rally the University of New Hampshire field hockey team from a 2-0 deficit, but a late tally in the 70th minute lifted Dartmouth College to a 3-2 victory in non-conference action Wednesday evening at Memorial Field.
With the game tied at two in the waning seconds, Dartmouth had one last shot at keeping the game from going into overtime. Virginia Peisch blasted a shot that deflected off the stick of a UNH defender and caromed to Rebecca Sobel, who was positioned three yards out in front of the cage. The ball bounced once before Sobel checked it out of midair past freshman goalkeeper Jenna Lehman (Kingston, Pa.) into the left side of the cage with two seconds remaining on the game clock to give Dartmouth the victory.

Frates extended her point-scoring streak to four games with her first career multiple-goal game. UNH goalkeeper Jenna Lehman (Kingston, Pa.) made six saves, including five in the first half. NU goalie Colleen Duffy, who entered the game with a 1.10 goals-against-average and .814 save percentage, was credited with three saves.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Freshmen Whitney Frates (Woodstock, Vt.) and Hayley Rausch (Severna Park, Md.) scored second-half goals to erase a second-half deficit, but the University of New Hampshire field hockey lost 4-3 in overtime to 17th-ranked Rutgers University on Sunday afternoon at RU Stadium Complex. It was the second straight overtime loss for the Wildcats.
Frates, who finished with a goal and an assist, and Rausch scored goals 75 seconds apart, at 52:41 and 53:56, to lift the 'Cats into a 3-3 tie. Meg Shea (Melrose, Mass.) scored UNH's other goal and Jenna Lehman (Kingston, Pa.) finished with five saves.

UNH goalkeeper Jenna Lehman (Kingston, Pa.) turned in another strong performance defending the Wildcats’ cage and finished with eight saves, including seven in the first half.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Shannon Taylor and Martina Loncarica both recorded three goals and two assists to propel the third-ranked Syracuse University field hockey team to Sunday afternoon’s 10-0 non-conference victory against the University of New Hampshire at J.S. Coyne Stadium.
UNH lost for the second time in as many days to a nationally-ranked team to fall to 4-4; all four of the Wildcats’ losses this season have been against nationally-ranked teams. Syracuse is now 8-0.

Coyne Stadium.

UNH, winners of four of its last five, is now 4-2 this season while HC fell to 1-5.

DURHAM, N.H. – Freshman goalkeeper Jenna Lehman (Kingston, Pa.) was impressive in a 15-save effort, but the University of New Hampshire field hockey team was upended 6-1 by 10th-ranked Michigan State University at Memorial Field on Sunday afternoon.
UNH, which entered the game with a three-game winning streak, is now 3-2 on the season. MSU improved to 5-1 with its second win in as many days.
Lehman made 15 saves and surrendered four goals before exiting the game with 11:20 to play; it marked the highest single-game save total by a Wildcat since Oct. 15, 2006, when current assistant coach Margaux Shute made 16 against Providence College.
