DURHAM, N.H. — The University of New Hampshire women’s hockey team, ranked third in both of this week’s national polls, is 7-1-3 overall with a 3-1-2 record in Hockey East. The Wildcats play top-ranked University of Wisconsin (12-0-2, 8-0-2 WCHA) in a two-game series at the Fort Myers Skatium in Fort Myers, Florida, on Nov. 21-22. Both games will be videostreamed live on USCHO.com/women/.
     UNH has a 6-0-1 lifetime record, including two wins last season, against Wisconsin. The teams have met once at a neutral site, and the ‘Cats prevailed 2-1 on Nov. 27, 2005 at Dartmouth College’s Thompson Arena. Last year at the Whittemore Center, UNH won both games by a 2-1 score.

NOTES | VIDEOSTATS | OPERATION HAT TRICK
DURHAM, N.H. --  The University of New Hampshire women’s hockey team, ranked No. 5 in the USCHO.com poll and No. 6 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, has a 6-1-3 overall record with a 2-1-2 mark in Hockey East (the last column indicates league shootout losses rather than ties). UNH, which has been idle since a 4-1 win Nov. 1 against Vermont, travels to Maine for a single game on Nov. 14 (7 p.m.). The Black Bears are 2-8-0 overall and 0-4 in the league.
      UNH has a 27-1-3 lifetime record, including a series sweep last season, against Maine. The Wildcats have won eight straight in the series and are unbeaten in the last 22 meetings (19-0-3) dating back to UM’s 2-1 win at the Whittemore Center on Jan. 20, 2002. UNH is 12-0-2 lifetime at Alfond Arena. In last year’s three-game series, UNH outscored Maine 20-1. UNH tallied 45+ shots in every game and had a 152-32 shot advantage. The ‘Cats were 7-for-16 on the power play and 17 of 17 on the penalty kill.

Sam Faber (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) recorded three points with a goal and two assists to lift the fifth-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team to a 4-1 victory against the University of Vermont in Hockey East action Saturday evening at the Whittemore Center.
     UNH extended its unbeaten streak to three games (2-0-1) to improve to 6-1-3 overall and 2-1-2 in Hockey East with one league victory by shootout. Kelly Paton (Woodstock, Ontario) also had a multiple-point game with a goal – the game-winning tally at 10:33 of the first period – and an assist, which was the 50th of her career.

Sam Faber (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) scored a shorthanded third-period goal to lift the fifth-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team into a 2-2 tie against eighth-ranked Boston University in Hockey East action Thursday night at the Whittemore Center. BU’s Melissa Anderson and Tara Watchorn scored in the shootout to give the Terriers a 2-0 decision and the extra point in the league standings.
     UNH is now 5-1-3 overall and 1-1-2 in Hockey East. Three of the Wildcats’ four league games have gone to the shootout frame, and the ‘Cats have won once. BU moved to 5-2-2 overall and 3-0-0 in the league.

    UNH has a 16-1-0 lifetime record, including last week’s 3-2 road loss, against Boston University and the Wildcats have won all 18 meetings against UVM.

DURHAM, N.H.Kelly Paton (Woodstock, Ontario) matched her career high of two goals to propel the fourth-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team to Saturday afternoon’s 5-3 non-conference victory against Yale University at the Whittemore Center.
     In addition to Paton, who has recorded a point in all eight games this season, three Wildcats finished with two points. Micaela Long (South Boston, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal and also had an assist while both Angela Taylor (Paisley, Scotland) and Julie Allen (Brampton, Ontario) tallied two assists.

– Lauren Cherewyk scored two power-play goals, including the game-winning tally in the third period, to lift the 10th-ranked Boston University women’s ice hockey team to Thursday night’s 3-2 Hockey East victory against fourth-ranked University of New Hampshire at Walter Brown Arena.
     UNH is now 4-1-2 overall and 1-1-1 in Hockey East with the one win coming via the shootout. BU, which had lost all 16 previous games vs. the Wildcats, is now 4-2-1, 1-0-0. The loss ends New Hampshire’s league-record regular-season unbeaten streak at 40 games (36-0-4). UNH had not been defeated by a Hockey East team since Nov. 2, 2006 (at Boston College).

Game time at Walter Brown Arena is 7 p.m. UNH plays host to ECAC foe Yale University (0-0-0) Oct. 25. Opening face off is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Whittemore Center.
     UNH has won all 16 meetings against Boston University and has a 17-0-1 lifetime record vs. Yale.

.  – Jenn Wakefield (Pickering, Ontario) and Sam Faber (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) netted first-period goals one minute apart to lead the fourth-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team to Sunday afternoon’s 2-1 non-conference victory against Clarkson University at the Whittemore Center.
     Wakefield potted her team-leading sixth goal of the season at 10:19 and Faber scored on a penalty shot at 11:19 to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead. Kayley Herman (Weyburn, Saskatchewan) finished with 18 saves.
