Twenty-Nine Wildcats Named to Hockey East All-Academic Team
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – A total of 29 UNH student-athletes were named to the 2014-15 Hockey East All-Academic Team on Wednesday. Danny Tirone of the men’s ice hockey team and Brooke Avery of the women’s squad also earned a spot on the Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team.

Women's Swimming & Diving Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Team
NORFOLK, Va. -- The University of New Hampshire women's swimming & diving team was acknowledged Tuesday by the Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America Team for the spring semester. The Wildcats compiled a 3.17 GPA and was one of three America East schools that received the distinction.

Kat Fogarty, a 6-foot-2 forward who grew up in Peterborough, N.H., and played her high school basketball at The Governor’s Academy in Massachusetts, and Brittni Lai, a 5-foot-6 guard, are both transferring in to UNH from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

UNH Finishes 78th in Learfield Sports Directors' Cup
CLEVELAND – The University of New Hampshire finished in 78th place overall and No. 1 among America East Conference institutions in the 2014-15 Division I Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup, a joint effort between the National Association of College Directors (NACDA) and USA Today. Points were awarded on each D-I institution’s finish in up to 20 sports – 10 women’s and 10 men’s.

Pile Driving Takes Top Billing In Stadium Project
Blasting gave way to pile driving this week on the site of the new UNH stadium. A crane operator began driving steel H-beams on Tuesday and it will take probably a few three weeks to sink about 140 beams that are the start of the foundation for the stadium, which will stand just over 80 feet.

One of the projects over the next week or so in the stadium will be to blast and remove ledge that sits at the scoreboard end of the field where drainage trenches and other elements of the stadium will be.
