BURLINGTON, Vt. - Sophomore Jacoby Armstrong (Sachse, Texas) scored a career-high 20 points, but the University of Vermont went on a 14-0 run in the second half to pull away from the University of New Hampshire men’s basketball team en route to a 64-49 win at Patrick Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

Men's Hockey Faces Merrimack in Final Weekend of Regular Season (Fri., 7:30 p.m. | WBIN/FCS) (Sat., 5 p.m.)
DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team faces Merrimack College in the final weekend of the regular season with a pair of home games. The first game is set for Friday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. and will air live on WBIN-TV and FOX College Sports Atlantic. Saturday's puck drop is set for 5 p.m. in the Battle for the RiverStone Cup XIV. There will be a pregame ceremony honoring the five Wildcat seniors.

Tickets For Sale: Basketball, Hockey Jockey For Playoff Positions
It’s shaping up to be a wild week or so in Wildcat Country. The UNH men’s basketball team clinched a top four spot in the America East tournament over the weekend. The Wildcats will play their first home tournament game in 20 years on Wednesday, March 4, at 7 p.m. in Lundholm Gymnasium against a team yet to be determined. Tickets for the game went on sale to the general public at the Whittemore Center box office on Tuesday morning.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Meghan Pflieger (Barneveld, N.Y.) scored a 38.925 to win the all-around championship for the sixth straight meet, but the UNH gymnastics team had its winning streak snapped at nine by virtue of Sunday’s fourth-place showing in the Wendy M. Roach Invitational quad-meet at West Virginia.

The chase is on. The UNH hockey team knocked off Connecticut 5-1 on Saturday night at the Whittemore Center to complete its first weekend sweep of the season and keep the pressure on in its quest for home ice for the first round of the Hockey East playoffs. The Wildcats slipped past UConn into ninth place in the standings.

NEW YORK – The University of New Hampshire women’s track and field team took fourth place with 107 points at the America East Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at the Armory in New York City. Senior distance runner Anne Twombly (Exeter, N.H.) claimed a pair of first place finishes while Laura Rose Donegan (Melbourne, Australia) was named the winner of the Elite 18 Award.

UNH senior forward Jay Camper had not played in a couple of games when he got the word last Saturday morning that he was going to be in the lineup for that night’s contest against Boston University at the Whittemore Center.
