Game 14 Report: 2nd Half Turned Tide For No. 1 Football
On the first play of the second half in Saturday’s NCAA semifinal tournament game in Cowell Stadium, UNH senior Andy Vailas took a pitch from quarterback Sean Goldrich and ran for nine yards around the right side. It was a nice gain by the backup quarterback designed on a run designed to set up an “element” – some call them trick plays – later in the half. It also, it could be argued, started a stretch that led to the defeat of the Wildcats.
