Durham, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire hockey team and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire announced a unique program today which recognizes the state’s community heroes.
“The Anthem Community Angels program recognizes everyday heroes—people in our local community who have led, created, or otherwise been instrumental in activities that help make our community a better place,” said Justin Barnes, General Manager of Wildcat Sports Properties. Fans can visit www.UNHWildcats.com and look for the Anthem Community Angels link under Fan Zone to learn more and nominate their Community Angel.
During the March 9th game against Maine, the honoree will be recognized at an on-ice ceremony and receive a team-autographed Wildcats jersey. Anthem will also make a $500 donation in the honoree’s name to a local health-related organization chosen by the honoree.
“New Hampshire non-profits provide vital safety services for those less fortunate,” said Lisa M. Guertin, president, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire. “And those organizations are supported by legions of selfless volunteers. We’re excited to collaborate with the team on this program to thank and recognize volunteers for all that they do.”
The deadline to nominate an Anthem Community Angel is February 15th. For more information, please call Justin Barnes at 603-862-4300 x1.
