Men's Basketball and Holy Rosary Credit Union raise $1,749 for St. Charles Home

ROCHESTER, N.H. - Holy Rosary Credit Union teamed up with the University of New Hampshire men’s basketball team at the beginning of the 2010-11 season launching the “Hoops for Hope” campaign.

The partnership spawned a plan to donate $1.00 for every point scored by the Wildcats throughout the year to the St. Charles Children’s Home in Rochester, N.H. In total, 1,749 points were scored, allowing HRCU to present a check to St. Charles for the same dollar amount with much gratitude and enthusiasm.

“This was a great success, and I’d like to personally thank all the folks at UNH Wildcat sports, head coach Bill Herrion and all the players for helping us bring hope and support to the children at St. Charles,” said Brian Hughes, CEO and President of HRCU. “This initiative was aligned with our commitment to education and families in the communities we serve and we’re very pleased with the results.”

“We were honored to be a part of the ‘Hoops for Hope’ campaign,” said Herrion. “Being able to help raise money and support the St. Charles Children’s Home means an awful lot to UNH Basketball and we look forward to helping more in the future.”
