CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The America East conference announced Thursday afternoon that seniors Sara Hourihan (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Caitlin Whelan (Weymouth, Mass.) of the University New Hampshire women’s soccer team were named to the 2008 America East All-Academic Team.

DURHAM, N.H. – The College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) announced Thursday that Sara Hourihan (Lynnfield, Mass.), a senior forward on the University of New Hampshire women’s soccer team, was named to the Academic All-District Third Team for District 1 women’s soccer.
     Hourihan has been stellar in the classroom with a 3.66 grade point average and been equally impressive on the field this season for the Wildcats as she led the team in both goals (7) and points (16).

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior goalkeeper Nikki Golding (Milton, Mass.) made five saves and the third-seeded University of New Hampshire women’s soccer team scrapped until the final horn, but its season came to an end Thursday afternoon with a 1-0 loss to No. 6 Binghamton University in the quarterfinal round of the America East tournament at Lewis Fields.

The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team earned the No. 3 seed in the America East tournament and will play host to sixth-seeded Binghamton University on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 1:30 p.m. at Lewis Fields. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for youth (5-18) and seniors (over 65) and $2 for students. The first 100 UNH students will get in free, as will anyone under five years old.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The America East conference announced Monday that senior forward Michelle Sheehan (Belmont, Mass.), a captain on the University of New Hampshire women’s soccer team, was named America East Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 12.
     Sheehan netted a pair of goals during the week, giving UNH an insurance cushion versus UMBC when she made it 2-0, and notching the game-winner against Vermont to complete UNH’s comeback from a 2-0 deficit.
