DURHAM, N.H.—The University of New Hampshire football team will play its annual Spring Blue/White Scrimmage on Sat., May 8, at Cowell Stadium.
The action is set to begin at approximately 12:30 p.m., and admission is free, so instead of paying for a ticket fans are encouraged to bring in food items for the football team's “Lend a Can” food drive. Food receptacles will be located in and around Cowell Stadium.
The Spring Blue/White game is a great opportunity to see the progress UNH's returning players have made since the end of last season. In 2009, the 10-3 Wildcats won their second straight CAA North Division Title, made their sixth straight appearance in the NCAA FCS Playoffs and advanced to the quarterfinals for the fifth time during that span. UNH completed the season ranked No. 7 in the nation according to the final “Sports Network Top 25 Poll”.
In addition, the first-ever Super Cat 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is scheduled immediately following the Spring Blue/White scrimmage. The games will be played in Lundholm Gym at the UNH Field House. The Super Cat Alumni Classic is a half court 3-on-3 basketball tournament open to all UNH football alumni. The event is a great way to get together with former teammates, while supporting the Cat Club, a fundraising group that provides critical support for the football program.
