ORONO, Maine - The University of New Hampshire field hockey team closed out the regular season with a 2-1 win over Maine at Morse Field Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Wildcats earned a share of the regular-season America East title along with Northeastern, as both finished with 4-1 league marks. The Huskies defeated UNH 2-1 last Saturday to earn the No. 1 seed and the right to host next weekend's America East tournament.

The Wildcats (12-7, 4-1 AE) would get on the board 13:35 into the game when Jenn Harrison (Hanover, Mass.) scored, with the assists on the tally going to Nikki Pandolfo (Reading, Mass.) and Jen Stamp (Tyngsboro, Mass.). UNH carried that 1-0 lead into halftime and would extend the lead to 2-0 6:47 into the second half when Courtney Goodwin (Lynnfield, Mass.) scored on a pass from Marcie Boyer (Dillsburg, Pa.).

Maine (14-3, 3-2 AE) would net its only goal with 21:30 to play as Tara Bedard scored for the Black Bears.

Christine Buckley (Walpole, Mass.) stopped 10 shots in net for UNH. Maine outshot the Wildcats 21-11.

UNH and Maine will meet next weekend in the semifinals of the America East tournament on Friday, November 8 at Northeastern. UNH is the second seed while Maine earned the tourney's No. 3 seed. The winner of that game will meet the winner of Friday's other semifinal between Northeastern and No. 4 Vermont on Sunday, November 10.
