AMERICA EAST ACADEMIC CUP RECORD SURPASSED IN SECOND-PLACE FINISH
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire, whose student-athletes achieved a 3.16 cumulative grade-point average for the 2009-10 academic year, surpassed the league record for highest GPA and finished second in the America East Academic Cup, the league announced Thursday afternoon.

DURHAM, N.H. – Robin Balducci, 19th year head coach of the University of New Hampshire field hockey team, announced Tuesday that Megan Bozek (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.), Meg Callanan (Lititz, Pa.) and Casey Pohlmeyer (Millersville, Md.) have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend UNH and begin competition with the Wildcats in the 2010 season.

CAPE COD, Mass. – Meg Shea (Melrose, Mass.), a senior forward and captain of the UNH field hockey team, was named to the 2009 ECAC Division I Field Hockey All-Star Second Team, the ECAC announced Monday. She was the only player from the America East conference selected as a 2009 ECAC All-Star.

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Meg Shea, a senior forward and captain of the UNH field hockey team, was named to the 2009 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-America 3rd Team, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Monday. The NFHCA also recently announced the Northeast Region teams. Shea and Whitney Frates were named to the 1st Team while (Bridgewater, N.J.) was a 2nd Team selection.
