DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire gymnastics team closes out the home portion of its' 2002 schedule on Saturday when they host Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Yale in a four-team meet. The meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start at Lundholm Gymnasium.
The meet will be the final home meet for senior co-captains Katie Revis (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) and Bethany Wagner (Bound Brook, N.J.). Revis, a balance beam and floor exercise specialist, recently tied the school record on floor (9.925) against Alaska Anchorage on Feb. 16. Wagner has competed as an all-arounder for the first time this season, and has set or matched career-highs in all four events during the 2002 campaign.
The 'Cats are looking to bounce back from a 193.100 posted last Saturday at the Michigan State Spartan Invitational. Junior Jen Dickson (Salisbury, Md.) placed third in the all-around competition in that event, posting a 38.600. After Saturday's meet, the 'Cats have road meets at Towson (March 8) and Auburn (March 15) before returning to Towson for the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) championships on March 23.
West Virginia and Pitt are also members of EAGL. The Mountaineers are coming off a 194.75 at the Nebraska Master's Classic, while the Panthers posted a 193.5 at Illinois last Saturday. Yale is coming off a 188.000 performance at last week's Ivy Classic. Yale posted a season-high 193.075 earlier this season against Rhode Island.
