DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire women's gymnastics team will kick off the 2004-2005 season this Sunday, Dec. 5, showing off their routines at the annual "Meet The Team" exhibition.
The event is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Lundholm Gymnasium. The exhibition will feature nine returning gymnasts from last season who helped post five of the 10 highest team scores in UNH history. Continuing off of recent success, senior co-captains Vanessa Berrios (Long Pond, Pa.) and Vanessa James (Malden, Mass.) are ready to lead this year's squad, and will be on hand to meet Wildcat fans. Lindsay Berrios (Long Pond, Pa.) and Tara Phillips (Spring, Texas) round out the senior class.
Fans will also get the chance to meet some new faces, as UNH presents its freshmen gymnasts. These gymnasts have been featured in national competition and are sure to bring new flavor to the already-talented Wildcat squad.
The exhibition will show off the skills and routines of the gymnasts, who will be performing each event to their own choice of music. The exhibition will be followed by a clinic in which athletes age six and older can be taught their favorite flips and tricks by the UNH gymnasts and the coaching staff. Wild E. Cat will be handing out tattoos to fans of all ages, and an autograph session will also be held following the exhibition.
The cost to attend the exhibition is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 18 and seniors. UNH students attend for free with a UNH ID.
