BALTIMORE – Meghan Pflieger (Barneveld, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire gymnastics team was feted Tuesday as the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) co-Rookie of the Week. Pflieger recorded three personal-best scores as part of the Wildcats' second-place finish in Sunday's Wildcat Invitational at Lundholm Gym.
The Barneveld, N.Y., native led UNH on vault in the opening rotation with a 9.850 for a share of fourth place. Pflieger also earned a share of fourth place on balance beam with a career-high 9.775, and her 9.800 on floor exercise (T-8th) was a personal best.
The Wildcats (2-2, 0-1 EAGL) scored a 193.700 to defeat Brown (192.550) and Yale (187.500); 24th-ranked Minnesota (196.025) won the Invitational.
Chelsea Raineri of George Washington University was named the other EAGL co-Rookie of the Week.
New Hampshire takes on Pittsburgh (2-0, 1-0 EAGL) this Saturday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m. The dual meet will be telecast live from Fitzgerald Field House on ESPN3.
