DURHAM, N.H. - Led by junior Austin Ganly's (North Yarmouth, Maine) 29 points, the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team posted an 84-66 win over Hartford on Thursday at Lundholm Gymnasium.
The Wildcats (2-5, 1-2 America East) never trailed as they staked themselves to a 9-0 advantage 2:47 into the game and never looked back.
Ganly, who is among top five in scoring nationally, was 9-for-14 from the field and 3-for-4 on three-pointers. Senior Colin Donahue (Des Moines, Iowa) netted 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds and dished out eight assists.
The Wildcats, who take their first conference game after dropping their first two to Delaware and Towson, shot 52.7% (29-55) from the field and made 50% (10-20) of their three-pointers.
UNH maintained a double-digit lead on the Hawks (2-6, 0-2 AE) the entire second half and in the last 3:53 of the first. The Wildcats led 48-31 heading into the break.
Mantas Storpirstis had a team-high 19 for the Hawks while Ryan Stys netted 18.
