KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Scott Morris (Walkersville, Md.) of the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was selected to the 2012-13 National Association of Basketball Coaches' (NABC) Honors Court, announced Wednesday.
The honor recognizes student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2012-13 season. It is the first NABC Honors Court selection for Morris as he was just one of five America East student-athletes to achieve the feat.
Morris, who will enter his senior year in 2013-14, posted career-high numbers in nearly every category in 2012-13. He played in 28 games and averaged 4.5 points per game while shooting at a 42.9 percent success rate. He hit 40 percent of his shot from beyond the arc and dished out 0.6 assists per game and snared 0.8 rebounds per game.
In order to receive the distinction, the student-athlete must be of at least junior standing and contain a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher. Morris is majoring in business administration/finance.
