WAKEFIELD, Mass - Senior assistant captain Lanny Gare (Vernon, B.C.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named Player of Month by the Hockey East Association on Monday afternoon.
In the month of November, Gare compiled 14 points, scoring in eight of UNH's nine games in that month. Gare recorded 2-12-14 in seven wins and two losses for UNH, and averaged 1.56 points-per-game in November. Gare's 14 points, all of which came during his eight-game scoring streak, were a conference high in the month of November.
Gare recorded five multiple-point games in November, and scored the Wildcats' only goal in the 2-1 overtime loss at Maine, Nov. 22 Gare was credited with an assist on the game-winning goal in five of UNH's seven November wins. On Nov. 8 Gare matched a career high with three assists vs. UMass-Lowell.
In the month of November, Gare compiled 14 points, all of which were in Hockey East play. He ranks third in the league in overall point production (7-15-22). Gare is currently ranked 10th in the national leaderboard with 1.83 points-per-game and leads Hockey East by a four point margin.
The Wildcats return to action Friday, December 6th vs. Clarkson at the Whittemore Center. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
