LOWELL, MA (Nov. 20, 2004) - UMass Lowell and New Hampshire battled to a 3-3 tie tonight at Tsongas Arena. UML's record stands at 4-5-1 overall (0-5-1 Hockey East), while UNH is 8-2-2 (5-1-1 Hockey East).

For the first time this season the River Hawks gave up the first goal of the game as Brian Yandle gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead with a power-play tally at the 13:00 mark of the first period.

Junior F Bobby Robins (Peshtigo, WI) tied the game 1-1 when he collected the puck behind the Wildcat net and put a wrap around shot past Jeff Pietrasiak on the stick side at 1:18 of the second period.

Junior F Danny O'Brien (South Boston, MA) gave the River Hawks a 2-1 lead just 13 seconds into the third period, knocking a Brad King (Calgary, ALB) centering pass into the net. Junior F Ben Walter (Langley, BC) also assisted on the play.

Justin Aikins tied the game for the Wildcats at 4:58 with his first goal of the season. Brett Hemingway notched his seventh of the year at 11:38 to put UNH ahead 3-2, but junior F Andrew Martin (Brampton, ONT) posted his second goal in as many games to tie the score 3-3. Sophomore F Jason Tejchma (Muskegon, MI) and Robins set up Martin's fifth goal of the year.

Freshman G Peter Vetri (Windham, NH), stopped 27 shots for the River Hawks, while Pietrasiak made 20 saves. The Wildcats were 1-1 on the power play while holding UML scoreless in its three opportunities. The River Hawks play a matinee Saturday, hosting non-conference Bentley at 2:00 at Tsongas Arena.
