Goumas, Knodel Named 2013-14 New England Hockey Writers Men’s Division I All-Stars
BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forward Kevin Goumas (Long Beach, N.Y.) and defenseman Eric Knodel (West Chester, Pa.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team were named to the New England Hockey Writers Division I All-Star Team, as announced on Wednesday by the New England Hockey Writers. The pair will be honored at the annual awards banquet held at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass. on April 16.

Men’s Hockey’s Kevin Goumas Inks Contract with Philadelphia Flyers Organization
DURHAM, N.H. – Senior forward Kevin Goumas (Long Beach, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team signed a contract with the Adirondack Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers. The organization made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.

Sorkin Signs Contract with Montreal Canadiens Organization
DURHAM, N.H. – Senior forward Nick Sorkin (Rockville, Md.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team has signed a professional tryout contract with the Hamilton Bulldogs, the AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. Marc Bergevin, General Manager of the Canadiens and the Bulldogs made the announcement Wednesday.

Men’s Hockey’s Eric Knodel Signs with Toronto Maple Leafs
DURHAM, N.H. – Senior defenseman Eric Knodel (West Chester, Pa.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team signed a one-year entry level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs that will begin at the start of the 2014-15 season the organization announced Tuesday. Knodel has also signed a professional tryout agreement for the remainder of the 2013-14 season with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Former Men’s Hockey Player Lind Named EHL Coach of the Year
NORWALK, Conn. – Former University of New Hampshire men’s hockey defenseman Eric Lind (’01) was named the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) Coach of the Year as voted on by fellow head coaches. The announcement was made on Monday by the league.

Men’s Hockey’s Trevor van Riemsdyk Signs with Chicago Blackhawks
DURHAM, N.H. – Junior defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk (Middletown, N.J.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League on Monday night. The contract will go into effect for the 2014-15 season.

Men’s Hockey Earns Hockey East Charlie Holt Sportsmanship Award
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – The 18th-ranked University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team was honored as the recipient of the Charlie Holt Sportsmanship Award, bestowed annually to the least penalized team in Hockey East. The first round of awards were announced Wednesday, March 19 by the league office. The Hockey East All-Star Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year will be announced at the league's awards banquet Thursday, March 20 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge.

DURHAM, N.H. -- Tyler Kelleher (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored a third-period goal and Casey DeSmith (Rochester, N.H.) stopped all 27 shots he faced to lead the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team to Friday night's 1-0 victory against 14th-ranked Northeastern University. DURHAM, N.H. -- The fourth-seeded University of New Hampshire men's hockey team will host the fifth-seeded Northeastern University Huskies in a best-of-three Hockey East quarterfinal series. The first game is set for Friday, March 14 at 7:05 p.m. while Saturday's will also start at 7:05 and will be aired on WBIN-TV. If necessary, Sunday's game will start at 4:30 p.m.
