Willows Tabbed as Warrior Hockey Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Junior forward Matt Willows (Congers, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was tabbed as the Warrior Hockey Player of the Week, as announced by Hockey East Monday afternoon.

Willows recorded a total of five points in two games over the weekend as the Wildcats swept Nebraska-Omaha with a 6-3 victory on Friday and a 5-2 on Saturday. In Friday's game, Willows recorded a goal and three shots. On Saturday, Willows recorded his second career hat trick, all of which came in the third period. His natural hat trick was the first for UNH since Kevin Goumas (Long Beach, N.Y.) accomplished the feat at Denver on Nov. 24, 2012.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Jan. 11 as they take on intrastate rival Dartmouth in the Battle for the RiverStone Cup XIII. The game will take place at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H. at 5 p.m. Tickets to the game are on sale at the Whittemore Center Box Office, by calling 1-800-745-3000 or going online to www.unhwildcats.com.
