PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.) took third in the shot put and five other Wildcats earned top-10 finishes as the University of New Hampshire men's track & field team competed at the non-scoring Larry Ellis Invitational on April 20-21 at Princeton University's Weaver Stadium.
Paey, who is coming off an indoor conference title in the shot put, claimed third overall in the event with an IC4A-qualifying toss of 57-09.50.
Junior Matthew Guarente (Saugus, Mass.) tied for fifth in the high jump with a cleared height of 6-04.75.
On the track, sophomore Kevin Greene (Silver Spring, Md.) placed seventh in the 800 meters, completing the 55-runner field in a time of 1:53.27. Senior Jacob McDougle (Walpole, N.H.) was 48th in the event at 1:58.42.
Freshman John Prizzi (Wycoff, N.J.) finished eighth overall in the 1,500 meters, earning a top-10 time in the 54-runner field at 3:54.78. Sophomore Nathaniel Hathaway (Scarborough, Maine) and freshman Jeffrey Moretti (Guilford, Conn.) placed 24th and 31st, respectively, in times of 3:58.63 and 4:00.37. Senior Alexander Beaulieu (Merrimack, N.H.) finished 38th in a time of 4:02.45.
In the 110-meter hurdles, freshman D'mahl McFadden (Penacook, N.H.) ran to an eighth-place finish and qualified for the IC4A Championships with a time 14.83. McFadden also placed 22nd in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in a time of 55.53.
Back in the field, sophomore Jesse Swink (Groton, Conn.) placed ninth overall in the javelin with an IC4A-qualifying toss of 193-08.
The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday, April 24 when they take on Holy Cross and Rhode Island at the Hart Track in Worcester, Mass. The tri-meet is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
