BOSTON - The University of New Hampshire men's indoor track team placed second at Boston University in the teams first meet of the season on Saturday. UMass took the top honors with 68.50 points, followed by UNH (41.50), Maine (40), BU (37.50), CCSU (19.50), Providence (16) and Bentley (1)
UNH was lead by senior Mike Puzzo (East Hampton Conn.) in the weight throw with a winniing distance of 50-feet, 4.5 inches, and sophomore Greg Taylor (Allentown, Pa.) who won the triple jump with a distance of 44'9.75" as well as placing 6th in the long jump with a distance of 20'10.75".
In the 55 meter dash, UNH was able to place two runners in the top five positions. Senior Tim Constant (Alexander N.H.) placed third with a time of 6.6 seconds, while sophomore John Landerbe (Hamilton, Mass.) placed fourth with a time of 6.9 seconds. Constant also placed second in the 200 with a time of 22.5 seconds.
Other notables include freshman Taylor Scull (Bedford, N.H.) who was second in the 400, Peter Mallett ( Manchester, N.H.) had a personal best in the 3000 placing second with a time of 8:38.8.
The next men's meet will be on December 8th at Orono, Maine.
