BOSTON- The University of New Hampshire men's track team traveled to the Boston University Pavilion this past weekend to compete in the New England indoor track and field championships. Junior Greg Taylor (Allentown, Pa.) carried the day for the 'Cats, as his fifth place finish in the triple jump earned him four of the Wildcats' eight and a half total points. The 8.50 total points put the 'Cats in 18th place in the 31-team field.

Taylor's jumps totaled 13.96 meters, placing him just over one meter behind Southern Connecticut State's Eric Pierce (14.97 meters). Junior William Field (Rochester, N.H.) just missed scoring in the event, as his jumps totaling 13.37 meters placed him less than a half meter out of the points.

The 4x800 meter relay team also had a strong showing for the 'Cats, as they finished in sixth place in 7:45.70, just over three seconds behind the events' winners, UMass-Lowell (7:42.38).

Tim Constant (Tilton, N.H.) notched an eighth place finish for UNH in the 200 meter dash, as the senior crossed the finish line in 22.66 seconds, a half second behindthe event's winner, Chris Brandon of Boston University (21.94 seconds).

Tyler Danen (Oconomowoc, Wisc.) was the other point scorer for the 'Cats, as his tie for eighth place in the high jump earned him a half-point for the Wildcat cause. Danen jumped 1.91 meters in the event.

The Wildcat men's track team returns to action on March 7th when they travel to Boston to compete in the IC4A Championships.
