DURHAM, N.H. —The University of New Hampshire men’s track finished fifth at the nine-team University of Rhode Island Mega Meet on Saturday at the Mackal Field House.
David Ball (Orange, Vt.) continued his strong first season with the Wildcats, finishing among the top three in two events. Ball took second in the high jump with a leap of 2.01 meters and third in the triple jump with a total leap of 13.58 meters.
Mark Goszytla (Londonderry, N.H.) finished fourth in the mile with a time 4:19.47. Brandon Williams (Hooksett, N.H.) was fifth in the 1000m run with a time of 2:32.82. William Field (Rochester, N.H.) was fifth in the triple jump (13.20 meters) and Mackenzie Kilpatrick (Concord, N.H.) was fifth in the 3000m run (8:41.79). Craig Stucchi (Southborough, Mass.) rounded out the top-five finishers with a fifth-place in the weight throw (14.98 meters).
Host Rhode Island won the meet with a score of 230 points. URI was followed by Bucknell University (138), Brown University (101), University of Massachusetts (65) and UNH (61).
The Wildcats men are off for the next two weeks as they prepare for the America East Championships at Boston University on Feb. 20 and 21.
