– Freshman Gabreal Dano (Merrimack, N.H.) and senior Robert Edgerton (Cornish, N.H.) each won two events to lead the University of New Hampshire men’s indoor track and field team to Saturday’s dual-meet win at the Paul Sweet Oval.
UNH finished with 165 points, while the College of the Holy Cross tallied 119 and Quinnipiac University recorded 47.
Dano won the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.65 seconds and the 200 meter dash in a time of 23.47. Dano also helped his squad to victory in the 4x400 meter relay, in which they finished in 3:30.09. UNH also won the 4x800 relay in a time of 8:10.76.
Edgerton grabbed victory in both the 500 and 1,000 meter runs, finishing in times of 1:08.04 and 2:34.98, respectively.
Senior Travis Parker (Fairfax, Va.) won the 400 meters in a time of 51.54, while sophomore Wesley Dinnan (Juneau, Alaska) submitted a first-place finish in the 3,000 meter run, finishing in 8:44.10.
On the field side of things, freshman Benjamin Casey (Merrimack, N.H.) won the 55 meter hurdles in a time of 8.18, beating out senior Daniel Randlett (Newfields, N.H.) (8.39).
In the high jump, sophomore Anders Nordquist (Wolfeboro, N.H.) placed first with a distance of 1.88 meters.
Junior David Dreyer (LeRoy, N.Y.) captured victory in the pole vault with a leap of 4.57 meters.
In the shot put, freshman Brice Paey (Milton, Mass.) edged out senior Reed Liset (Dover, N.H.), who was first in the weight throw. Paey had a throw of 14.84 meters in the shot put, while Liset came in at 14.65 meters in the shot put and 16.17 meters in the weight throw.
The Wildcats return to action Friday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. when they take part in the Northeastern University Reebok Collegiate Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
