UNH men’s outdoor track hosts Wildcat Invitational

DURHAM, N.H. - Robert Edgerton (Cornish, N.H.) and Tony Truax (Dover, N.H.) won events for the University of New Hampshire men's outdoor track team in the first day of the Wildcat Invitational I. Edgerton got the victory in the 800-meter event with a time of 1:55.63. Truax won the 3000-meter steeplechase in a time of 9:18.04.

Tyler Danen (Oconomowoc, Wis) placed second in the high jump after clearing 1.87 meters. Matt Begley (Brookeville, Md.) took second in the pole vault and Tristan Hall (Londonderry, N.H.) took second in the long jump. David Ciasulli (Hampton, N.H.) took fourth in the long jump event and added another fourth place finish in the 100-meter. Derek Stank (Etters, Pa.) took third in the javelin throw.

Other notable performances for the Wildcats include Travis Parker (Fairfax, Va.) who took fifth in the 200. Dave Benedetto (Alton, N.H.) placed in two events. He took fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and fifth in the 400-meter. In the 400-meter, Benedetto finished a place behind teammate Josh Turner (Rochester, N.H). The 4x400-relay team took home a second place finish for UNH.

The outdoor track team will be back at home next weekend at the Wildcat Invitational II.
