Four Wildcats compete at NCAA outdoor track regionals

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Sophomore Robert Edgerton (Cornish, N.H.), sophomore Erik Lundquist (Londonderry, N.H.), junior Erin Moore (Nashua, N.H.) and sophomore Cathy Parker (Westfield, Mass.)represented the University of New Hampshire outdoor track programs on May 26 and 27 at the NCAA Outdoor Track East Regionals hosted by North Carolina AT&T State University in Greensboro, N.C. at the Irwin Belk Track Facility.

On Friday afternoon, Moore, who was the America East champion in the shot put, placed 25th overall in the shot put with a throw of 13.01 meters. Lundquist, the America East champion in the discus, finished 15th overall with a throw of 47.76 meters in the discus throw. Edgerton capped off the opening day for the Wildcats with a 19th place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of three minutes and 55.91 seconds, after winning the conference championship in the 1500 meters in Durham three weekends ago.

Parker was the only Wildcat who competed on Saturday with a 10:38.57 time in the 3000 meter steeplechase, which was the 15th best time among the NCAA field. Parker was the America East champion in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
