BOSTON – Senior Erin Moore (Nashua, N.H.) and junior Cathy Parker (Westford, Mass.) along with Andrew Lawson (Holland Patent, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire outdoor track and field programs recently were named to the America East All-Academic Team. It was announced on Friday.

Each All-Academic Team has been selected based on the student-athlete’s academic and athletic accomplishments. Academic achievement for consideration requires student-athletes to have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 entering the season. Athletic accomplishment standards vary between team sports and individual sports. For track & field, student-athletes are required to be a top-three finisher at the conference championship meet. Freshmen are not eligible for the All-Academic Team.

Moore was UNH’s most consistent and prolific point scorer throughout the season. She dominated the America East Championships by scoring points in each of the four throwing events. Moore posted two second place finishes in the shot put (42-11.50) and hammer (157-1), respectively, and finished sixth in the javelin (104-7). She also placed eighth in the discus (125-11). Parker smashed her previous conference record along with the school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase by over 18 seconds as she cruised to the victory in a time of 10:13.69. Lawson was the lone representative on the men’s side as he recorded his first individual conference title with a win in the 10000-meters in a time of 31:43.57.

Moore also received America East All-AcademicTeam status during the indoor season, while Parker earned the very same honors during the cross country as she was crowned America East Champion.
