OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT HOLY CROSS
RESULTS

WORCESTER, Mass.
– The University of New Hampshire men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams competed in the decathlon and the heptathlon, respectively, at the College of the Holy Cross on April 17.
   
In the heptathlon, sophomore Kelly Thomas (Chichester, N.H.) finished second with 4,186 points, freshman Kaitlyn Dugan (Hatfield, Pa.) placed seventh with 3,866 points and senior Kathleen Hoppe (Hopkinton, Mass.) came in 12th with 3,573 points.

Thomas owned the second-best marks in the javelin (32.34 seconds) and the 800-meters (two minutes, 23.38 seconds), the fourth-best marks in the 100-meter hurdles (16.69s) and the long jump (4.98m) and the sixth-best mark in the shot put (8.79m). She recorded a leap of 1.39 meters in the high jump and finished the 200-meters in 26.57 seconds.

Dugan had the top mark in the long jump (5.08m), the third-best mark in the high jump (1.53m) and the fourth-best mark in the 800-meters (2:30.18). She finished the 100-meter hurdles in 17.57 seconds, posted a throw of 7.36 meters in the shot put, completed the 200-meters in 26.86 seconds and had a toss of 21.85 meters in the javelin.

Hoppe finished fourth in the shot put (9.50m), fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.85m) and sixth in the javelin (28.94m). She also recorded a jump of 1.30 meters in the high jump, finished the 200-meters in 27.62 seconds, submitted a leap of 4.51 meters in the long jump and completed the 800-meters in 2:46.14.
   
On the men’s side in the decathlon, junior Daniel O’Hara (Needham, Mass.) finished 18th with 5,032 points. O’Hara finished the 100-meters in 12.26 seconds, recorded a distance of 5.45 meters in the long jump, threw the shot put 11.31 meters, submitted a leap of 1.75 meters in the high jump, ran the 400-meters in 52.74 seconds, completed the 110-meter hurdles in 17.57 seconds, posted a throw of 25.96 meters in the discus, cleared a height of 2.93 meters in the pole vault, had a toss of 36.01 meters in the javelin and crossed the finish line of the 1,500-meters in 5:21.94.
   
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m. when they host the Wildcat Invitational III at Reggie F. Atkins Track.
