BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior Cory Sinotte (Manchester, N.H.) placed 83rd overall to lead the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team to a 33rd-place finish at the 37-team Paul Short Invitational Friday on the campus of Lehigh University.
The Wildcats finished with 882 total points, while Villanova captured the meet with 69 points.
Sinotte, who was UNH's top finisher for the second time this season, crossed the finish line in a time of 25:22. Sinotte placed fourth overall in the season-opener against Providence and third at the America East Pre-Conference meet.
Senior Daniel DeCrescenzo (New Milford, Conn.) finished 179th in a time of 26:10 after taking second place two weeks ago at the pre-conference meet. Sophomores John Prizzi (Wyckoff, N.J.) and Jeff Moretti (Guilford, Conn.) placed 203rd and 204th, respectively, at 26:27.
Senior David Gervais (Nashua, N.H.), who was the top finisher for the Wildcats at last week's dual-meet against Maine, placed 213th in a time of 26:35. Freshman Luke Miller (Birdsboro, Pa.) and sophomore Sam Gagnon (Hooksett, N.H.) placed 217th and 225th, respectively, at 26:44 and 26:48 to round out the Wildcat finishers.
The Wildcats return to action on Sunday, Oct. 7 when they take part in the New England Championships at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass.
