Hogan's Game-Winning Buzzer Beater Earns America East Top Play of the Year
DURHAM, N.H. – Kelsey Hogan (Nashua, N.H.), who sank a game winning 3-pointer over Stony Brook in the America East quarterfinals, has been named the 2012-13 America East Top Moment of the Year.
On March 8, 2013, at the University of Albany's SEFCU Arena, the Wildcats called a timeout with 13 seconds remaining in the second of a 46-46 tie with the Seawolves. Ariel Gaston (Toledo, Ohio) drove baseline and passed the ball back to the top of the arc, where Hogan controlled the ball. She then dribbled to her left and launched a deep 3-pointer that went through the rim as time expired to send the Wildcats to the America East semifinals for the first time since 2005.
Hogan's buzzer beater moment gathered a total of 477 votes among Wildcat fans on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, topping second place UMass Lowell by two votes. On behalf of UNH Athletics, we would like to thank everyone for coming out and voting for the 2012-13 America East Top Moment of the Year.
