WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Hockey East announced Monday that five student-athletes on the UNH women’s ice hockey team have been named to the 2009-10 WHEA All-Academic Team and that one of those Wildcats – freshman defenseman Katie Brock (Marblehead, Mass.) – was named a Top Scholar-Athlete.

DULUTH, Minn. – Micaela Long (South Boston, Mass.) netted her 48th career goal and Kayley Herman (Weyburn, Saskatchewan) recorded 24 saves, but the seventh-ranked UNH women’s ice hockey team was ousted from the 2010 NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey Championship with a 2-1 loss Saturday afternoon to the second-ranked and second-seeded Minnesota-Duluth at the DECC.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Senior captains Kelly Paton (Woodstock, Ontario) and Bobby Butler (Marlboro, Mass.) from the University of New Hampshire women and men’s hockey teams, respectively, have been selected among a field of 24 players to participate in the 2010 NCAA Frozen Four Skills Challenge.
