School-Record 13 Women's Ice Hockey Players Named to 2010-11 Hockey East All-Academic Team
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Thirteen student-athletes on the University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team were named to the 2010-11 WHEA All-Academic Team, as announced Wednesday afternoon by Hockey East. The total of 13 student-athletes is the highest by the Wildcats in the nine-year history of the league; the previous best was 12 in the 2007-08 season.

ZURICH, Switzerland – Kacey Bellamy (’09), a four-year standout at the University of New Hampshire and volunteer assistant coach for the 2011 Wildcats, won a third consecutive gold medal at the International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship when the U.S. Women’s National Team defeated Canada, 3-2 in overtime, on April 25.

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – The UNH women’s ice hockey team, which has finished first or second in the Hockey East regular-season standings all eight years of the league’s existence, was picked fourth in the 2010-11 WHEA Preseason Coaches Poll that was released Monday.

DURHAM, N.H. – Brian McCloskey, eighth-year head coach of the University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team, announced Monday that Jamie Wood has joined the staff as an associate head coach, effective immediately.

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey program has announced its 32-game regular-season schedule for the 2010-11 season. There is an even split of 16 home games and 16 road games for the Wildcats.
