Groszkowski named to Inside Lacrosse All-America Third Team

DURHAM, N.H. - Jessie Groszkowski (Reisterstown, Md.), a senior attack on the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team, was named to the Warrior/Inside Lacrosse Division I All-America Third Team on Tuesday afternoon.

Groszkowski, who holds four school records, was named to the IWLCA/U.S. Lacrosse North All-Region First Team a week ago.

The co-captain finished her 2003 senior season with 54 goals and seven assists for 61 points. She led the team in goals and points, as well as draw controls (58) and free position goals (10). Groszkowski also ranked third on the team in both ground balls (39) and caused turnovers (14). Those numbers rank 11th nationally in goals (3.18 goals per game) and sixth in draw controls (3.41 per game).

This season, Groszkowski broke the UNH record for career goals with her 156th tally at Albany on April 18. She ended her four-year career with 178 goals and 26 assists to finish No. 2 on UNH's all-time points list with 204. She also broke the school record for consecutive games with a goal, as she netted a goal in all 17 games this season to extend her streak to 45 games. Groszkowski also departs UNH with the single-season record in both goals (60) and points (68), both of which she established in 2002 en route to being named to the All-America First Team.

With 54 goals this year - 31.6% of the team's 171 total - Groszkowski became the first Wildcat player with multiple 50-goal seasons. In addition, she became the first player with consecutive 60-point seasons.

In addition to recording her milestone 200th career point with the third of five goals vs. the University of Vermont on May 1, Groszkowski also registered her 150th career point (Feb. 23 at Cal) and 150th career goal (April 6 vs. Virginia Tech) during the 2003 season. Another season highlight came April 19, when she matched her career high of eight points (six goals, two assists) vs. Stony Brook University.

Groszkowski, the 2002 America East Player of the Year and All-America First Team selection, was named to the America East All-Conference First Team for the third consecutive year.

In 70 career games, Groszkowski recorded multiple goals 49 times, including a personal-best seven goals at Vermont last season. She also had two six-goal games, five five-goal games and seven four-goal games.
