Coffey, Lindgren, Teschner, Taylor Named Skiing MVPs
DURHAM, N.H. – The UNH skiing program recently held its postseason banquet to recognize the top performers from the 2013 season. The alpine team crowned Sam Coffey (Snowmass, Colo.) and Randa Teschner (Petawawa, Ontario) as its MVPs, while Erik Lindgren (Pitea, Sweden) and Annika Taylor (Truckee, Calif.) were feted as the MVPs of the Nordic team.

Evans, Maguire Named Jim Urquhart Student-Athletes of Year
DURHAM, N.H. – Matt Evans (Hanover, Mass.) of the football team and Keely Maguire (Georgetown, Mass.) of the women’s track and field team were named the 2012-13 recipients of the Jim Urquhart Student-Athlete of the Year award by the UNH athletic department.

Nordic Skiing's Liz Guiney Named to Craftsbury Green Racing Project
CRAFTSBURY COMMON, Vt. – UNH senior Nordic skier Liz Guiney (Park City, Utah) was selected to the prestigious Craftsbury Green Racing Project, a non-profit organization that supports and promotes participation and excellence in lifelong sports with a special focus on rowing, running and Nordic skiing.

Skiing Golf Tournament Slated for May 11 (8:30 a.m.) at The Links at Outlook
DURHAM, N.H. – The UNH skiing program will play host to the UNH Ski Team 21st Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 11, at The Links at Outlook golf course in South Berwick, Maine. The fundraising event, which is open to the public, is a four-person team scramble beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Caldwell Bean's All-America 2nd-Team Performance Lifts Skiing To 8th at NCAAs
RIPTON, Vt. – Senior Anya Caldwell Bean (Wolfeboro, N.H.) capped her college career by earning All-America Second Team in the women’s Nordic 15K free help the UNH skiing team finish in eighth place at the 2013 NCAA Skiing Championships.

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Coley Oliver (Salt Lake City, Utah) tied for second place and Taylor Vest-Burton (Breckenridge, Colo.) took sixth place Wednesday in men's giant slalom to spark the UNH skiing team to fourth place overall on the opening day of the 2013 National Collegiate Men's and Women's Skiing Championships at Middlebury College.

Liz Guiney Named NCAA Skiing's Elite 89 Winner
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – UNH senior women's Nordic skier Liz Guiney (Park City, Utah) was named the winner of the National College Men's and Women's Skiing Elite 89 award, which recognized her for reaching the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in Division I skiing while also achieving the highest academic standard among her peers. Guiney was honored at Tuesday night's NCAA Skiing Championships awards banquet.

Skiing's Ramey To Compete At USSA Junior Nationals

Annika Taylor Named EISA Female Nordic Skier of Week
DURHAM, N.H. – Annika Taylor (Truckee, Calif.), a sophomore on the UNH skiing team, was named Tuesday as the EISA female Nordic Skier of the Week. At last weekend’s Colby Carnival, Taylor raced to her first career first-place finish in the 15K freestyle Sunday, one day after finishing second in the 5K classic.

Ski Program Announces Captains for 2012-13 Season
DURHAM, N.H. – The UNH Nordic and alpine skiing teams announced Monday their team captains for the 2012-13 season. Anya Caldwell Bean (Wolfeboro, N.H.) and Liz Guiney (Park City, Utah) were tabbed as Nordic women’s co-captains, while Erik Lindgren (Pitea, Sweden) and Perry Thomas (Rindge, N.H.) were selected as Nordic men’s co-captains. Alpine team captains are Laura Rozinowicz (Toronto, Ontario) and Taylor Vest-Burton (Breckenridge, Colo.).

Skiing holding 2012 Ski Sale on Oct. 28
DURHAM, N.H. – The UNH ski program will hold its 2012 Ski Sale at the UNH Field House on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Skis, boards, skates and apparel, both new and used, will be for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit the UNH Ski Program. There will also be a free raffle for New Hampshire ski area passes.
