New Hampshire women's soccer blanked by UMass, 3-0

AMHERST, Mass. - Led by a pair of goals by Michelle Luttati, the University of Massachusetts women's soccer team defeated the University of New Hampshire, 3-0, Friday afternoon at Totman Field.

UMass (4-1-0) established an early 1-0 lead on Luttati's first tally of the game at 6:20. The Minutewomen took that lead into halftime and extended the advantage to 2-0 in the 53rd minute on another goal by Luttati. Erin Lilly scored at 63:05 to cap the scoring.

UNH goalie Kristen Ouellette (Simsbury, Conn.) stopped five shots and allowed three goals in 72:04 of action. Elizabeth MacKay (Scituate, Mass.) entered with UNH facing a 3-0 deficit and held UMass scoreless for the final 17:56. She was not credited with a save. UMass goalie Kelly Nigh made two saves.

New Hampshire (2-4-3) returns to action Sept. 30 with a home match vs. Rhode Island. Game time at Lewis Fields is 1 p.m.
