DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team will play host to the University of Maine for its Senior Day as well as the Think Pink (coaches vs. cancer) match. The game is set to take place on Bremner Field at 1 p.m. Links to live stats and video will be available at www.UNHWildcats.com.
THINKING PINK: The women's soccer program will be hosting a silent auction during the game to raffle a commemorative jersey marking the game. All proceeds from the auction will directly benefit the American Cancer Society.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE 'CATS: New Hampshire extended its unbeaten streak to seven games (2-0-5) as it blanked UMass Lowell, 2-0. Junior Meghan Ledwith (Yardley, Pa.) recorded the first goal of the match and her second of the season in the 70th minute of play while Kirsten O'Neil (Hampton, N.H.) gave the Wildcats a 2-0 cushion in the 79th minute. The goal was her third of the season.
Wildcat goalkeeper Mimi Borkan (Medfield, Mass.) earned her fifth shutout of the season as she saved all five shots the River Hawks sent on net.
SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE: Kirsten O'Neil leads the way on offense for the Wildcats, registering three goals and four assists for 10 points. Ledwith is behind her with five point stemming from two goals and one assist. Anna Deweirdt (Seattle, Wash.) splits her three points on a goal and an assist. Jenna Shaddock (Halifax, Nova Scotia), Jordan Logue (Walpole, Mass.) and Gabrielle Sloan (Stow, Mass.) each have a pair of points on a goal. Kelsi O'Neil (Hampton, N.H.) rounds out the points with an assist.
Freshman goalkeeper Mimi Borkan (Medfield, Mass.) comes in with a record of 3-2-5 with five shutouts in her 12 games played. She has a goals against average of 0.58 and a save percentage of .892. Erica Correa (Cheshire, Conn.) has a record of 1-3-1 in her five games and has one shutout. She has a goals against average of 1.77 and a save percentage of .714.
LAST TIME OUT FOR BLACK BEARS: Maine took a 3-1 win over UMass Lowell in the last contest on Oct. 10. Jordan Pellerin gave the Black Bears a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute of play while Charlene Achille and Maggie Malone recorded a pair of second half goals. Maine keeper Lauren Swant made a pair of saves on three shots faced in the game.
SCOUTING MAINE: Eve L'Abbe leads the Black Bears on offense with eight points from three goals and two assists. Achill has seven points from three goals and one assist while Malone and Pellerin have matching totals of five points from two goals and an assist.
Lauren Swant has started each of the 13 games she has played and has a record of 6-4-3 with four shutouts. She has a 0.87 goals against average and a .806 save percentage.
NEXT UP FOR THE WILDCATS: New Hampshire will hit the road for its last two games as they travel to Stony Brook on Thursday, Oct. 24. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
