CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Juniors Shelli Reed (Hollister, Calif.) and Ellen Pelletier (West Hartford, Conn.) were honored as the America East Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
The pair helped New Hampshire (3-0) remain unbeaten on the season, as the Wildcats finished the day winning 14 of 16 events, taking down Central Connecticut State (213-84) and Bryant University (221-69) on Nov. 5 in a dual meet at Swasey Pool.
Reed paved the way for the 'Cats with three first-place finishes, claiming the top spot in the 50-yard (24.02), 100-yard (52.14) and 200-yard freestyle (1:51.65), finishing the day at the top of the America East performance list in all three events. She was also part of the Wildcat relay team that took first place in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:48.79.
As for Pelletier, she picks up her second America East Diver of the Week honor this season after sweeping the diving events against the Blue Devils and Bulldogs. She shattered the school record in the one-meter dive with a score of 275.25, while also taking the top spot in the three-meter with a score of 230.30.
The Wildcats are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 12 (1 p.m.) when they take on the University of Rhode Island at the Tootell Aquatic Center.
