CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Katie Mann (Prince George, B.C.), a freshman swimmer on the University of New Hampshire women's swimming and diving team, was named the America East Swimmer of the Week by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
Mann helped UNH preserve its undefeated season (4-0), claiming first place in 14 of 16 events, taking down the University of Rhode Island, 160-128, on Saturday afternoon at Tootell Aquatic Center.
Mann raced to a first-place finish in all three individual events in which she competed and also swam a leg in the winning 400 medley relay to lead New Hampshire to a victory over Rhode Island. She was the first competitor to touch the wall in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.47), 200 breaststroke (2:24.44) and 200 IM (2:09.85) against the Rams.
Mann and the Wildcats return to action when they hit the road for the Boston University Invitational (Nov. 18-20) at Faneuil Pool.
