Bull and Zahka Earn America East Women's Swimming & Diving Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Jenna Bull (Woodstock, New Brunswick) and junior Nicole Zahka (Medway, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire women's swimming & diving team garner the first America East Swimmer and Diver of the Week awards of the 2013-14 season respectively, announced Tuesday by the conference. 

Bull finished first in two events against Boston College en route to a season-opening 217-140 win. The senior won the 50-yard freestyle (24.58 seconds) and 100-yard freestyle (52.62), while placing second in the 200-yard individual medley at 2 minutes, 6.02 seconds. Additionally, Bull was part of a third-place 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 1:52.15.

Currently, Bull ranks 26th (200-yard IM), 93rd (100-yard freestyle) and 143rd (50-yard freestyle) among Division I swimmers in the most recent CollegeSwimming.com times. 

On the boards, Zahka placed fourth in the one-meter dive, registering 189.60 points and tallied a runner-up finish in the three-meter dive (203.02), aiding UNH to its first victory of the season.  

The Wildcats host their first home dual meet of the season, welcoming conference foe Vermont on Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.
