ORONO, Maine - The University of New Hampshire women's track and field team earned the top spot in seven of 15 events at the Maine-UNH dual meet on Saturday afternoon at New Balance Field House in Orono, Maine.
Senior Allison Brehm (Pembroke, N.H.) opened the meet by placing first in the 60-meter dash for the Wildcats. Brehm notched a time of 7.81 to earn the top spot in the final regular season indoor meet of her career. Junior Morgan Costa (Standish, Maine) followed in second (8.00 seconds), just 0.19 seconds behind Brehm. Costa also placed second in the 200-meter dash for UNH, timing in at 26.22 seconds in the event.
A pair of Wildcats swept the top-two spots in the 800-meter race during the meet. Juniors Rachel DePalma (Orange, Conn.) grabbed first place in a time of 2-minutes and 22.73-seconds and Lauren Brown (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) took second with a mark of 2:23.65.
Freshman distance runner Rachel Provost (Keene, N.H.) followed with a victory in the 3000-meter race. Provost clocked in at 11:04.84 to finish six and a half seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Classmate Katherine Estep (Plaistow, N.H.) finished behind Provost, taking third in the event with a time of 11:24.65.
The Wildcats claimed two of the top three spots in the 60-meter hurdles. Junior Virginia Lavallee (Kingston, N.H.) placed first (8.97 seconds) and senior Caroline Bonsaint (Hampton, N.H.) finished third (9.40 seconds).
Bonsaint also recorded a victory in the long jump for the Wildcats. The senior measured in at 16-feet and 07.75-inches to earn first during her final regular season indoor meet.
The Wildcats also swept the triple jump event during the afternoon. Freshman Lexie Arbour (Monson, Mass.) registered first place with a mark of 34-07.75 and sophomore Victoria Tondre (Canton, Mass.) posted third with a jump of 32-06.50.
The final Wildcats' victory came during the 4x400 relay, as the relay squad of Taylor Ordway (Plaistow, N.H.), Lavallee, Andrea Nash (Hampton, N.H.), and Katherine Hickey (Northfield, N.H.) posted a time of 4:10.05 to beat Maine's relay team by 9.42 seconds.
