BOSTON, Mass. - Freshman distance runner Elinor Purrier (Montgomery, Vt.) of the University of New Hampshire women's track and field team posted a third-place finish and earned a new school-record time in the mile event on Sunday afternoon in the Last Chance Meet at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
Purrier claimed third place in the event with a new school-record mark of 4-minutes and 36.14-seconds, besting her previous school-record time of 4:41.73, which she posted last week at the America East Conference Championships.
Purrier's time of 4:36.14 currently ranks her 11th in the NCAA and would make her eligible to compete at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 14th at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M.
