DURHAM, N.H.-- One week prior to the NCAA track and field championships, the University of New Hampshire women’s team is sending nine competitors to compete in four events at the ECAC Championships meet being held in Boston this weekend.
Katie Litwinowich (Holden, Mass.) will compete in the 1000 meters and Amy DeCamp (Lodonderry. N.H.) will be running in the mile. The distance medley relay team of Jamie Falcon (Shelburne Falls, Mass.), Valerie Williams (Merrimack, N.H.), Erin Fitzpatrick (Nashua, N.H.) and Emily Ferry (Ellington, Conn.) will try to better the qualifying mark and school record of 11 minutes 54.02 seconds that was set by Williams, Falcon, DeCamp and Litwinowich on Jan. 28 at the Husky Invitational in Boston.
The Wildcats will be sending three participants to compete in the pole vault. Paige Riff (Lancaster, N.H.), Shanna Mailloux (Bedford, Mass.) and Krysta Kenyon (Plainfield, N.H.) should give UNH a solid showing at the Championships.
Following the ECAC Championships, the NCAAS are March 9-11 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
