UNH Women's Track Over Vermont, 91-78

DURHAM, N.H. - Just a week before the conference championships, the University of New Hampshire of women's track team hosted the University of Vermont on Saturday and came away with a 91-78 victory at the Paul Sweet Oval.

The highlight of the afternoon was Lauren Knight's (Centerville, Mass.) school record breaking throw in the shot put of 43 feet, 6 1/2 inches. Knight broke teammate Erin Moore's (Nashua, N.H.) record of 41-1 set in 2003. Knight finished second behind the Catamounts' Kristal Kostiew in the shot put but finished first in the 55m hurdles.

Melissa Murphy (Rockland, Mass.) finished first in the 55m dash, Amanda Reinhardt (Honeoye Falls, NY) took top honors in the 1000m, Katie Murray (Leominster, Mass) was first in the high jump, Caley Valliere (Hampstead, N.H.) took first in the pole vault and Rebecca Eldridge (Porstmouth, N.H.) rounded out the first place finishes for the Wildcats in long jump.

The women and men begin the America East Championships on Friday, Feb. 20 at Boston University. The conference championships concludes on Saturday, Feb. 21.
