BOSTON - Select members of the University of New Hampshire women's indoor track team competed at the ECAC Championships last weekend, held at Boston University's Reggie Lewis Track.
Highlighting the weekend was a sixth place finish by the 4x800-relay team. Nichole Whalen (Warwick, N.Y.), Chelsea Corr (East Greenbush, N.Y.), Rebecca Haley (Dover, N.H.) and Catherine Parker (Westford, Mass.) combined to finish in 9:09.30. The relay team earned All-ECAC honors for finishing in the top eight. This marks the third time in four years that the 4x800-relay team has placed high at the ECAC championships.
Also competing was the distance medley team of Megan Hepp (Milton, Vt.), Kimberly Usseglio (Watertown, Mass.), Kelly McCloskey (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and Jennifer Busse (Hollis, N.H.), who finished 19th with a time of 12:29.09.
Kristen Meisner (Nashua, N.H.) finished 15th out of 24 racers in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:16.01.
In addition to running the distance medley, Hepp competed in the 5000-meter run and finished 15th. Her time was 17:12.02.
The UNH track team now focuses on the upcoming outdoor season. The first meet is scheduled for April 2 when they travel to the University of Maine.
