WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD SHINES IN OPENER
COMPLETE RESULTS

BOSTON –
University of New Hampshire senior thrower Erin Moore (Nashua, N.H.) recorded a second place in the weight throw (48-00.75) and a third in shot put (42-3.25) to lead the women’s indoor track and field team to a successful start to its season at the Husky Winter Carnival on Saturday.
            The Wildcats received two first place finished in individual events as junior Rebecca Haley (Dover, N.H.) posted a win in the 1000 meters (3:01.93), while senior Johan Fickenscher raced to a first place finish in the 3000 meters (10:30.80). Amanda Schweizer (Merrimack, N.H.) and Kara Fisher (New Milford, Conn.) competed in the 1000 meters and finished third (3:05.38) and fourth (3:05.95) respectively.
            Junior hurdler Kiah Quarles (Derry, N.H.) delivered a third place finish in the 55-hurdles (8.67), while high school and college teammate Kristen Kwiecien (Derry, N.H.) recorded a fifth place the 400 meters (1:02.65).
            Other meet highlights include the 4x400 team comprised of Tracy Howell (Grafton, Mass.), Sarah Hall (Nottingham, Mass.), Lauren Barbour (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Kim Usseglio (Watertown, Mass.) raced to a third place finish (4:06.84). UNH also posted an impressive seven Wildcats in the top ten for the weight throw.
            The Wildcats return to action on Saturday (Dec. 9) when they host the University of Maine for an 11:30 a.m. start at UNH’s Paul Sweet Oval.
