WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD SOLID AT DARTMOUTH RELAYS
HANOVER, N.H. – Sophomore Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H) returned to her hometown and wound up setting a new school record in the pole vault at the Dartmouth Relays that took place Jan. 11-13 at Leverone Field House. The meet was a college/open event.

Ciambra’s jump of 11 feet, 6.25 inches broke the old school record of 11-4½ that was set by Shanna Mailloux in 2002. That effort placed her sixth in the event.

Freshman Megan Donohue (Stratham, N.H.) and senior Amy Roccio (Beverly, Mass.) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the pentathlon. Donohue compiled 3,079 points, while Roccio netted 3,037. Donohue finished the 800-meter run in two minutes, 28.70 seconds, which was good for third place in the event. Roccio’s best performances were in the high jump and the shot put. She finished fourth in both events, submitting a high jump mark of 1.64 meters and a distance of 9.37 meters in the shot put.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Jan. 19 when they host Holy Cross and UMass at the Paul Sweet Oval in their first dual meet of the season.
