WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT BOSTON INDOOR GAMES

BOSTON
– Sophomore Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.) set a new school record to highlight the day for the University of New Hampshire women’s indoor track and field team at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games on Jan. 25 at the Reggie Lewis Center.
   
Ciambra finished in a tie for second place in the pole vault after her jump of 11 feet, 9.75 inches broke her own school record (11-6¼) that she set at the Dartmouth Relays on Jan. 13. With the performance, Ciambra also becomes an ECAC qualifier.
   
Senior sisters Brienna and Larissa Smith (Sandown, N.H.) submitted solid performances in the weight throw, finishing second and fourth, respectively. Brienna had a throw of 47-10½, while Larissa came in at 46-10.
   
Junior Carolyn Durfee (Laconia, N.H.) placed 13th in the one mile run, clocking in at five minutes, 16.62 seconds.
   
Sophomore Caleigh Moran (Winchester, Mass.) finished in ninth place in the long jump with a distance of 15-5½
   
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Feb. 2 at 10:30 a.m. when they compete in the University of Rhode Island Mega Meet at the Mackal Field House.
